What is FFCRA?

The FFCRA was created through the American Rescue Plan Act. The purpose of this program is to refund business owners for paid sick leave provided to their employees. This program not only applies to the employees that had to take sick leave for themselves, but it also applies to those employees that had to take leave to take care of sick family members. It also applies if they had to be at home to take care of their child, because their school was shut down.

Relief act amended the EPSLA and FMLA to extend through March 31, 2021

  • 5-500 employees – filed on Form 941-X

Sick leave:

  • 10 days of Sick leave – max amount is $511 per day or $5,110 in total.
  • 2 weeks of $200 for caring for an individual up to $2,000 total

10 weeks (50 days) of paid family leave

  • 50 days of paid family leave $200 max per day for $10,000 total

Not eligible

  • 5% owners
  • Employees with more than $130,000 in annual wage

American rescue plan act

April 1, 2020 – December 31, 2020

12 weeks (60 days) of paid family leave

  • 60 days of paid family leave $200 max per day for $10,000 total

  • Employees with more than $130,000 in annual wage

●  W2’s 2020 and 2021

●  Sick Leave report – showing employee name, sick leave earnings, and dates of sick leave. (Excel Preferred)

●  Family leave report – showing employee name, family leave earnings, and date of family leave. (Excel Preferred)

●  Management verification that sick leave and family leave was covid related. (Excel Preferred)

●  ERC calculations per employee

●  PPP loan – amount, date taken, date forgiven.
